Peru Mistura -Cultural and Culinary Exploration in Peru
Mistura Food Festival
Showing off the best of Lima, this small-group tour can also be combined with our tours of Cusco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and more. Mistrada has been held every September since 2007 and is the largest meeting of food enthusiasts and culinary professionals in Latin America. Mistura means “mixture” in Portuguese and, as the name implies, combines traditional Peruvian dishes such as potato and ceviche with international cuisines from other cultures that have imported culinary creations from all over the world. Vendors offer food samples made from farm fresh local produce along with other creations that are sure to tempt your palate.
Mistura is not only a food festival but it also includes a parade, culinary schools, art fairs and more restaurants and bakery vendors than one can sample in the time allotted. The hosts include both farmers and international, professional chefs who are available to answer questions and provide information about their trade. The event covers 11 acres and is divided into 13 specialty food areas. It has a large central market that includes an auditorium for cooking displays and classes are held.
This is a custom tour so the timing is important if it is to be combined with our many other tours. The festival lasts 10 days so we can also combine it with other activities in Lima. Request more information for your custom made tour by selecting the button below.
